Meet the 2016/2017 SSA Officers!
We are the team that plans all the happenings that go on in the UW SSA! As you will see, we are all kinda wacky, kinda strange, but we do have one thing in common and that is our dedication to serve the Singaporean community at the UW. Zong Zhen - President
Hi, my name is Zongzhen. You can call me Zack. I’m majoring in Computer Science. I love playing sports like soccer on the weekends whenever I get the chance to. Big indie music junkie as well, so hit me up if you’ve heard of an upcoming gig. Seattle’s great for concerts and they happen really frequently. It’s also a great way to meet people with similar music tastes. I dig adventures and I like hiking, mountain biking, scuba diving as well as skiing and Seattle is the perfect place for all that stuff. Occasionally, I like to catch the Seattle Sounders live at CenturyLink. I’m always down for something fun! :D.
Sanjana - Vice President
Hi! My name is Sanjana and I’m majoring in Psychology (don’t ask me why, I never have a good answer to that). I’m a foodie; I love to cook and bake but as ironic as this may sound, I am also a vegetarian so there is the whole world of meat that my taste buds have never explored. This is my first time here in the US and I am super duper excited for what is to come! I’m not really an athletic/sporty kind of person but that doesn’t mean I do not love the outdoors. I hate being cooped up at home or in a room and love to hang out with my friends. I love listening and singing along to good music as well (who doesn’t, right)! So basically, good food + good music + good company = A happy Sanjana! I’m glad to be a part of SSA as I think it is a great way to stay connected to my fellow Singaporeans!
Gabriel Ho - Public Relations
Hi, you can call me Gabe and I'm here in UW to major in Informatics! I love sports and play rugby with the Huskies RFC. On the side I enjoy a spot of fishing and snowboarding(winter). I also really need music in my life and appreciate just about all genres of muic. Simply put, I really like to enjoy myself.
David Low - Webmaster
Hi there! I'm David and I'm majoring in Business (Information Systems)! I love the outdoors and I enjoy swimming, cycling, and running to keep in shape. In my free time, I enjoy a game of pool with friends and playing a video game or two (Mostly FPS). I'm a huge fan of science fiction, and I enjoy Doctor Who, Star Trek, and more - it really brings out the geek in me! One great thing about UW is its diverse student body made up of so many people from different backgrounds. I feel that it's great to meet new people and see the world through their eyes. If you have stories to share, share them with me - I'd love to meet you and know more about you!

Warren - Programs
Hello! My name is Warren a freshman planning to major in accounting. Why accounting? Just because it’s the most practical and useful degree and its pretty prestigious here. Anyways, I was from ACJC and have been studying in Singapore all my life. Although I went to an international school for secondary school. Parents were from UW and hence my choice to come here. Served in NS as a combat engineer at Seletar camp and had a great time there. I enjoy playing DOTA, badminton and eating Japanese food. I enjoy having a beer and am part of a fraternity, though not too involved with them. I spend most of my time either studying in cafes or gaming in my room. Always eager to meet people and would consider myself as “pretty chill”. I enjoy the company of other Singaporeans very much and look forward to meeting any Singaporeans who end up in the USA. I’m glad to be part of the SSA and am very proud to be a Singaporean.
Nathan - Programs
Hey there! My name is Nathan and I am a freshman planning to major in Business! Still deciding between accounting and information system, might even take both! I really enjoy spending my time just chilling and hanging out with friends. The outdoors really excite me, especially when it comes to hiking or skiing. Something we can’t really do back home in Singapore. Apart from this I’m a real Star Wars fan, come talk to me if you enjoy this legendary film, we can discuss more in the overwhelming presence of the Force! :D Be sure to take on all the opportunities available here in UW! You’ll learn so much and never get bored!
